There are not many things that impact the success, or failure, of a project as profoundly as its study design. Despite its critical role, in the rush to start sample collection, this essential step is often overlooked.
A good study design is a blueprint for your project. It will take into account the specifics of your question, your study site and available resources. It will leverage your resources to where they are most needed. It will scale the sampling and other field effort so that you’re certain to get your desired answer, but will not waste your resources by oversampling and hitting the diminishing returns. It will include risk assessment and plan for contingencies.
To make a good study design, one needs to see the whole picture. Working backwards from the desired results, data analysis methods that would be utilized (and the assumptions that must be met for these methods to work), all the way to scaling and planning the field effort, we can add our expertise to your understanding of the study question and the field conditions. We will work intensively with you to make your study as likely to succeed as possible.
